Does anybody have a, non-Google translated, manual in real English. If not I am happy to start one with a more direct user friendly feel than the one that Google Translate provides. I note also that this latter is based on the programme in 2013, surely there have been some changes since then.
From what I see of the programme it looks very good and does most of what I am after but the odd translation vs actual French descriptions of some of the menu items makes it a little difficult. Whilst it seems costly to start with the actual IGN physical maps are expensive and if used frequently fall apart quite quickly so if you travel a lot then the overall cost should be reasonable.
One question I do have is whilst I have several Android devices in the house I have a tablet registered on my spouses which I would like to add to my IGN account - is this possible without changing the base Google account ?
Tim, thank you for your proposal to work on an English manual. This is a work by itself. I would advise to stay on simple and general instructions which are less subject to change in future updates.
About your question for your spouse tablet., the answer is negative. If you bought the subscription though Google, the only way to validate it on a device is by switching this device under the account which made the payment.
It must be told however, that there is an alternate way to pay subscription though the French iGN portal "Espace Loisirs". In this case a special identifier can be used on 5 devices either iOS or Android and is not related to Google or Apple account. But this way may not be easy to go for foreign customers, as the French iGN web site is mainly targeted to French customers.

I edited your post below to have the link display correctly.
Also, I added a direct link to your file from the global page of the iOS manual.
First pass of manual. Shows 3 layers of menus with simple description of icons. Given the number of icons document is of reasonable size (800kb or 800ko in french). Will true to expand the Waypoint and Tracks using the french on-line manual as a basis rom here as these are the areas I am likely to use msost.
Thanks, yes I was looking at more running through the overall use of the programme with a focus on certain activities such as recording tracks and routes together with a little of the structure of these files. Some of the things I have been using, or trying to, that I have found the Google translations a little odd for. What I will do is do a little every so often and place the document on my server at home (in Oz) and have a link from this forum topic to the document. I’ll try to use the same structure as the help topics within the programme but I cannot guarantee that. I also don’t want to tread on any toes within IGN – just perhaps help out a little and certainly if there is anything wrong about the translation it needs to be changed.
I had initially discovered iPhiGéNie when I was trying to set up walking tracks in Google Maps for a website I run but discovered that this has a problem when the ‘track’ disappears from being a car track into a walking track not all of which are on Google Maps. But I needed a free web usable map that was zoomable and had accurate tracks on it. At least iphgenie seemed to go part of the way.
I will look into the comment on the French IGN portal. Is there any way to switch to this from a pure Android UID ? ;) I can normally find my way around most French websites it's just that technical French isn't easy (but then technical English isn't either).
